What you need to qualify to enter St Barthélemy

GREEN "Verts" and Orange countries:
  • Proof of vaccination. 
    • All travelers aged 18+ and older will need to provide proof that they have been fully or partially vaccinated.
  • Valid Passport or Visa. No visa required to enter St Barth if you are a citizen of the US, Canada, any EU country, and most of Central and South America.   • Tested negative for everyone (Including Children 12+ years or older) of one of theses tests:
    • rt-PCR or Antigen negative test 24 hours or less before departure flight to St-Barth

IF YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED and/or from a red (Rouge) or (Rouge écalate) countries:
  • A compelling reason plus pre-authorization is required. (medical, family, professional)
  • Present a Negative Covid-19 rt-PCR test taken within 24 hours of departure. (for all ages)
  • You are requested to self-quarantine for the first 7 days after arrival followed by a rt-PCR test on the 7th day.

Transit Flight by 

Sint Maarten SXM
Transit/connecting flights by Princess Juliana Airport SXM then you must see the requirement and fill out the following EHAS form 12 hours before boarding the flight to SXM with your COVID-19 test results to obtain your authorization QR code

Saint Martin SFG Grand Case Airport
Same requirements as St-Barth nothing else is required.

San Juan (SJU) airport.

In Transit passengers: Travelers who are in transit to St. Barth are exempt from testing requirements and pre-arrival declaration forms for Puerto Rico itself but in order to continue to St. Barth, all travelers (age 10+) are required to show a negative Covid-19 Antigen test (administered within 48 hours (2 days) of their arrival in St. Barth) OR a negative Covid-19 PCR test. (administered within 72 hours (3 days) of their arrival in St. Barth). Those who have been in San Juan for less than 24 hours are exempt from quarantine requirements that several US states may have on their return.  Tradewind Aviation offers daily flights to St. Barth.  Private charters are also available.  Clients of St. Barth Properties should contact our Concierge team to reserve your Tradewind flight.

Non In Transit passengers: Travelers who intend to stay in Puerto Rico for more than 24 hours must show a negative PCR Covid-19 test (this is the molecular-based nasal swab test) where the date the test was administered is dated within 72 hours of their arrival. For those planning to overnight in San Juan, a pre-arrival travel declaration must also be filled out by all arriving.   View full San Juan travel requirements here. 

Antigua (ANU) airport
Travelers must show a negative rt-PCR Covid-19 test where the date of the test is dated within 72 hours of their arrival.


While you are on the island

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 7, 2022

Per order of the French Government:

Curfew at 12 AM (midnight). All persons are asked to be back at their home or hotel by this time.

Nightclubs are closed until further notice

A Sanitary Pass (France) or Proof of Full Vaccination is required to enter indoor spaces including Restaurants & Bars. Non-Vaccinated persons must present a negative Covid-19 test.

6 person maximum per table in restaurants and bars. Mask required when entering and/or moving around inside.

Masks are required to enter shops, boutiques, grocery stores, office space, banks, etc.

St. Barthélemy is currently classified as Level 1 (lowest risk) with the CDC.


When you return home

Do you need to get a COVID-19 test before you return?

Connecting flight to Sint Maarten SXM: When returning home via Sint Maarten SXM airport you will be required to submit a request via EHAS to enter Sint Maarten, although no additional testing is required.

Returning to the US?
All air passengers 2 years or older with a flight departing to the US from a foreign country at or after 12:01am EST (5:01am GMT) on December 6, 2021, are required show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before they board their flight.Read the full CDC announcement here.

Returning to EU or UK?
France require a negative COVID-19 rt-PCR test 48 hours before arrival on return from foreign countries.

United Kingdom require a negative COVID-19 antigen test 48 hours before arrival. Information for entry in UK


Testing sites

1) Antigen test can be done in 15 minutes at the pharmacy in front of the airport for 40€.

2) rt-PCR test can be done at French Red Cross mobile screening centre, Saint Jean beach parking lot, Open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This site carries out also rapid antigen tests that are 40€. It is located in the parking lot in front of the cemetery (across the street from the airport runway). Individuals are required to present official identification to be tested (EU identity card or passport). Antigen test results are usually available in under an hour

This site also offers Covid19 PCR tests, which you will be charged for. PCR test results are usually available in 24 hours of open days (except Sunday and holidays)
